Go Wide With Morgana
Ready to go wide?
Have you been meaning to go Wide for some time, but every time you stop to think about it, you get overwhelmed by all of the set-up work? Have you started the process of leaving the Amazon exclusive bubble, but keep second-guessing yourself and wishing you had someone to hold your hand?
Hey! I’m Morgana and I offer one-to-one consulting sessions for new authors and authors transitioning to Wide.
I’ve been Wide since day one. The thought of exclusivity just did not sit right with me. I always had dreams of my books in libraries, reaching readers as far as the internet would allow and with Kindle Unlimited I couldn’t have done either of those things.
I’m a steamy celebrity romance author with eight novels, two novellas and one box set out that cover rock star and Hollywood romance. As I said, I’ve been Wide since day one, learning each platform step-by-step. I’m direct with Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Play, Amazon, Radish and KISS and use a distributor for Apple Books, Dreame, Scribd and various other platforms and libraries.
You’ll find I’m a big email marketing nerd and I love learning new things (No. 3 Learner and No. 4 Input on the Gallup’s Strength test). I have this weird habit of building things and then learning something new and deciding to start from scratch. I’ve done it with my website, every single one of my welcome sequences, my backmatter, my blurbs… the list could go on.
The point is nothing is ever stagnant in this business and everything changes. Staying on top of those changes is exciting to me and I always want to share that knowledge.
Whatever your reasons for considering Wide now, it can be overwhelming. It’s just a fact of life at this point. There are multiple platforms, all of them with their own systems and different algorithms. Your mindset and public language use need to change. Even your preferred methods of marketing may not work as well Wide as they once did in Kindle Unlimited.
If you can’t afford to pay someone for help at this point, that’s okay. Just take it step-by-step. But if you need guidance or someone to bounce your doubts off, I’m here to help with one-to-one consults.
Feel free to send me an email using the contact form below if you have questions.
Before you book an appointment with me, though, I want to make sure we’re on the same page. Below are some of the things I can help you with and the things I definitely cannot. Read them, if I’m ticking some boxes for you, then you’ll find instructions at the end of the page.
TOPICS I CAN HELP WITH…
✔️ Starting your career as a wide author
✔️ Making the switch from KU to wide
✔️ Technical aspects of uploading to retailers/distributors (including Optimising your metadata and product pages)
✔️ Using a distributor or going direct
✔️ Author newsletters and welcome sequences
✔️ Reader magnets and using them to grow your list organically
✔️ The permafree strategy
✔️ Booking paid newsletters and figuring out the cost per download
✔️ Retailer promotions and how to get them
✔️ Author branding
✔️ Cross-promotion with other authors, box sets, anthologies, newsletter swaps
✔️ Backmatter optimisation
TOPICS I CAN NOT HELP WITH…
❌ Taking your wide career to the next level – right now, my focus is on advising brand new authors and newly wide authors.
❌ Being successful in KU
❌ Whether you should go Wide or KU – I’m staunchly Wide, anything I say on this topic will be biased and you should be figuring out your “why” for publishing and making this business decision yourself.
❌ Switching your books between KU and Wide every 90 days – my answer will always be don’t do it.
❌ Facebook, BookBub, or AMS ads
❌ Finding a traditional publisher or agent
❌ Very genre-specific topics that don’t involve romance
❌ Social media marketing, Facebook parties or the like
❌ Writing craft
❌ Anything specific to publishing in the US or other countries that aren’t the UK (like buying ISBNs at your local agency, taxes, copyright, etc).
60 Minute CallOne-to-One Consult
- You can book a call with me for 60 minutes for £69 to discuss any of the above topics.
1) Pick a date from my TidyCal (I only allow up to two author sessions per day in order to allow for me to still get my writing done, so don’t be surprised if the next opening is a ways away. The form will ask for your PayPal address; be sure that it’s accurate.)
2) Complete my intake form. This is essential. I won’t confirm your appointment or send an invoice until I have this information. It’s long, but only because I want to ensure I can help you before you spend money. It will also help us cut straight to the core to make the most of your 60 minutes.
3) Once I know I can help you, I’ll send a Paypal invoice for £69. After this has been paid, your appointment will be confirmed. Tip – if your bank doesn’t have a good rate for currency conversions or charges for it, you can allow Paypal to do the conversion and avoid those charges entirely. This works on most credit cards and debit cards, but Paypal will give you the options.
If you have to cancel your appointment more than 24 hours in advance, we can reschedule or you can get a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours before our meeting, I will charge a £20 rescheduling/cancellation fee.
If you don’t attend the consultation without prior warning, you can rebook with a 50% discount.
If I have to reschedule or cancel less than 48 hours in advance, you will either get a full refund or an extra 30 minutes at our rescheduled session.
Pop me an email and let’s discuss your email needs.
